Concept
There was an Egyptian craze in Victorian London in 19th Century. Westerner were curious about the mysteries of the East, and this led to a culture shock of theology, divination, religion worship, and etc. Some Londoner were lured into the Egyptian house to commit various scams, and because they were greedy and foolish, and didn’t know anything about Egyptian culture, they fell for the jokes.
Reception Room
This verdant living room seamlessly incorporates numerous Egyptian ornaments and wall paintings into its Victorian aesthetics. As the initial point of entry for everyone, I've intentionally preserved the familiarity of Victorian interior design to instill a sense of relaxation and inviting to clients. The infusion of mystical Egyptian elements adds a touch of glamour and allure to the ambiance. The rationale behind this approach is rooted in the belief that an excessively opulent initial scene might provoke wariness and a sense of inauthenticity, which could hinder the smooth progression of the subsequent steps in the scam.
Dressing Room
Private Area – No Unauthorized Entry.
This Victorian-style dressing room is a key hideout for three criminal gangs, used for making props and disguising identities to deceive clients.
Egyptian-style props, half-finished costumes, masks and stolen items are scattered throughout the room.
The Alchemy Room
The Alchemy Room undergoes a complete transformation, evolving from a Victorian space into an Egyptian-themed sanctuary. The furnishings within are essentially replicas, skillfully crafted forgeries. This enchanting room possesses an allure that captivates and enthralls many patrons. Notably, the central area's table and chairs, along with the left-side console table, showcase meticulous Egyptian paintings, seamlessly integrated with Victorian furniture by adding a black cover. The pillar at the rear is deceptively simplistic, a flat pillar meticulously drawn on black cardboard. Similarly, the Egyptian tower on the right is essentially a rectangular structure, ingeniously fashioned from black cardboard and mounted on a base. While retaining the original Victorian decor on the walls, fireplace, ceiling, and the upper part draped by the curtain on the right, a closer examination reveals these details to be subtly exposed.
